How It Works

Starting psychiatric care shouldn’t be complicated or intimidating. At Brady Psychiatry, we’ve streamlined the process so you can get the help you need without bureaucratic hassle. No waitlist. No judgment. Just a straightforward path from your first visit to a personalized treatment plan.

Here’s how it works, step by step. Most people complete intake and meet with us within 1–2 weeks.

Book Your Appointment

Visit our online scheduling portal (or call us if you prefer) and select a time that works for you. We offer appointments Monday throughThursday from noon to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.. Can’t find a time that works with your schedule? You can also reach out directly, and we’ll work to accommodate you.

Receive and Complete Your Intake Forms

After you book your initial evaluation, you’ll receive six to eight forms to complete online via a secure email link. It’s easy to fill everything out from your phone, tablet, or computer, usually taking just 15 to 20 minutes.
The forms include:

  • Initial intake questionnaire (medical history, medications, symptoms, family history)
  • Release of information (so we can coordinate with other providers if needed)
  • PHQ-9 (depression screening)
  • GAD-7 (anxiety screening)
  • Consent for telehealth
  • Payment authorization & insurance information
  • Demographics & emergency contact
  • Notice of Privacy Practices acknowledgment

We review these before your appointment so we can make the most of your time together.

Your Initial Evaluation (40 Minutes via Telehealth)

At your scheduled time, you’ll join a secure video call with Montana Brady, our Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or PMHNP. This first appointment is unhurried and conversational. We cover:

  • What brought you in today (your main concern)
  • How symptoms have affected your life (work, relationships, daily functioning)
  • Your medical and psychiatric history
    Current medications and any allergies
  • What you’ve tried before (therapy, medication, lifestyle changes)
  • Your goals for treatment

This is your chance to ask questions too. Montana will explain how he approaches psychiatric care and what partnership looks like.

Discuss Your Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

By the end of the appointment, you’ll have a preliminary diagnosis and a clear treatment plan. This might include:

  • Psychiatric medication (if appropriate)
  • Recommendations for therapy or other support
  • Lifestyle modifications (sleep, exercise, stress management)
  • Follow-up frequency and timeline for medication adjustments

If medication is recommended, we discuss options, side effects, and expectations. You’re always a partner in these decisions — never pressured and always informed.

Fill Your Prescriptions and Schedule Referrals

If medication is part of your plan, we send prescriptions to your pharmacy of choice. If we recommend therapy or specialty care, we provide referrals and resources in your area.

Schedule Your Follow‑Up

Before you leave, we schedule your next appointment — typically within two to four weeks depending on the complexity of your situation. If you’re starting a new medication, we’ll check in sooner to monitor how you’re doing.
