Conditions We Treat

At Brady Psychiatry, we know that mental health doesn’t come with one-size-fits-all solutions. Whether you’re struggling with persistent sadness, racing thoughts, overwhelming worry, or difficulty focusing, our team is here to listen, understand, and partner with you toward real healing. We treat a full spectrum of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan — children as young as 5 and adults of all ages.

Below, you’ll find an overview of the conditions we treat, organized by category. Each condition page offers deeper insight into symptoms, how we approach treatment, and what recovery can look like. If you’re not sure whether what you’re experiencing fits into one of these categories, that’s okay. We start with conversation, not assumptions.

Mood Disorders

Mood disorders affect how you feel day-to-day, disrupting sleep, energy, motivation, and your ability to find joy in life. They involve intense, persistent emotional states. Mood disorders can include:

  • Depression (Major Depressive Disorder) – persistent sadness, hopelessness, loss of interest in activities
  • Bipolar Disorder – episodes of elevated or irritable mood alternating with depression

You can get help regaining your balance with a combination of medication, lifestyle adjustment, and collaborative care.

Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders go beyond normal stress. They cause persistent fears or dread that interferes with work, relationships, and daily functioning. Anxiety disorders can include:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) – persistent, uncontrollable worry across multiple areas of life
  • Social Anxiety Disorder – intense fear of social judgment, embarrassment, or evaluation
  • Panic Disorder – sudden, overwhelming panic attacks with physical symptoms
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) – intrusive thoughts often paired with repetitive behaviors to reduce anxiety

Learn your triggers, reduce physical symptoms, and rebuild your confidence.

Trauma & PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder develops after exposure to terrifying events, whether you experienced them or simply witnessed them. Symptoms include flashbacks, hypervigilance, and emotional numbness. Healing from trauma takes partnership and time. We provide psychiatric medication management to stabilize symptoms while you process and recover.

Psychotic Disorders

Psychotic disorders involve a disconnection from reality, such as delusions, hallucinations, or disorganized thinking. Early identification and consistent medication management are critical. Psychotic disorders can include:

  • Schizophrenia – pervasive psychotic symptoms affecting perception and thinking
  • Schizoaffective Disorder – psychotic symptoms alongside significant mood disturbance

Maintain clarity and improve your quality of life with stabilization and long-term management.

ADHD

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

ADHD affects attention, impulse control, and executive function in children and adults. It’s one of our top focus areas. We assess thoroughly, rule out other causes, and use evidence-based medication and coaching strategies to help you thrive.

Substance Use Disorders

Addiction can give you a compulsive need for a substance, even when you know the consequences are harmful. It is a medical condition that can respond to tailored treatment. Brady Psychiatry manages co-occurring psychiatric symptoms and supports your recovery journey.

  • Opioid Use Disorder – dependence on prescription or illicit opioids
  • Alcohol Use Disorder – problematic drinking affecting health and relationships
Note: We provide psychiatric medication management.

Comprehensive addiction treatment (intensive outpatient or residential rehab) may be recommended alongside our care.

Sleep Disorders

Insomnia and other sleep disorders both cause and worsen psychiatric symptoms. We address root causes, like anxiety, trauma, and medication side effects, and develop sustainable sleep strategies.
